Tom, Karen, Sarah, and I run a corn and soybean farming operation based in Lanark, IL. We farm in Lee, Ogle, Carroll, and Stephenson counties. Tom and Karen began farming in 1978 with his Dad Harlan. Sarah and I came back to the farm in 2006. Our operation is truly a family farming operation.  Tom’s Dad still comes out to help as well as Tom’s son Ryan. My boys are already helping too in hopes of them being the next generation of farmers!

 

We have been renting several farms from landlords from up to 70 plus years. We take care of our rented land as if it were our own. We pride ourselves in keeping road ditches mowed, re-shaping waterways, keeping fence lines clean, and adding drainage tile if needed.

 

We also keep constant communication with our landlords. We have been using our farm website to show them what we are doing through the year. We send out newsletters to summarize the crop seasons.

We are blessed to have several great employees who have been an integral part of our operation for a long time.
